Art Displayed at the Priest's Mill Gallery

Gallery open

In the company of…

In the company of stone, art and fine crafts, the Priest's Mill Art Centre Gallery's inaugural exhibition celebrates the legacy of Father Alexander Macdonnell, who built the original grist mill in 1819. It's also a celebration of the entrepreneurial spirit of the visionaries who rebuilt in 1902 after a devastating fire and the intrepid entrepreneurs who've taken care of and rejuvenated this building in subsequent years.

The ground floor of the mill's centre block has been meticulously refurbished as an art gallery and studio to serve as a creative space for our community.

A collection of 25 community artists' work is currently on display — in their company, we can celebrate the creative in each of us.

The gallery is open to the public on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays from 10:00 to 17:00 (10 am to 5 pm).

Artists interested in exhibiting in shows are invited to get in touch.

A creative hub where you can participate in enriching experiences

Exciting developments coming

In addition to the first-class gallery, we'll soon be opening our multipurpose studio. From 10 November until we're ready to host workshops, this studio will serve as an extension of the gallery.

A fully equipped stained glass studio and glass shop will open towards the end of the year. A well-equipped warm glass studio will be commissioned before the end of the year. There are plans for more, including a flame work studio and a glass blowing studio (hotshop).

FAQs

When will you start offering experiences and classes?

We're in the final stages of revamping space for a versatile studio where we will offer all manner of creative experiences, starting with stained glass towards the end of the year.

We expect work to continue through fall into winter.

Work on the west end, will likely carry on through to next year as we raise the funds to develop and equip that section as our hotshop for glass blowing.

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes. The new PMAC gift cards can be used to buy anything in the gallery and studio. You can set the value of the gift card to any amount that suits your budget.

Will you honour legacy gift cards?

Yes.

We will honour legacy gift cards that have not previously been cashed in, for classes, experiences and select gallery works. Consignment artists' work excluded.

Tell me more about the stained-glass studio & shop

Our stained glass studio will be operational late-fall or early winter. Most of the equipment and crates of glass are in-studio.

We will be stocking stained glass supplies for sale to the public, with special deals for members.

Whats up with the warm glass studio

The first of our warm glass equipment is on site awaiting installation.

A large 42" kiln is on order and expected to arrive early December.

We expect to install and commision the equipment in December and then make that studio available for experiences, classes and artists wanting to work independently.

Artist's FAQs

I want to exhibit my art

Our gallery's primary aim is to give as many community artists as possible the opportunity to show their work. If we cannot accommodate you right away, we'll bring you on board as soon as we're able.

If you are interested in exhibiting as a consignment artist in our Omnium Gatherum exhibits, you should contact or visit the gallery with your work

I'm interested in a solo exhibit

If you want to be considered for a solo exhibit please contact the gallery to present a proposal or portfolio of work to be considered. The first step… a conversation.

I'm an artist looking for studio space

Once our versatile studio space has been revamped, we'll make studio space available for artists looking for a space to work away from home for periods of time.

We will also be offering bench time for artists wanting to work with stained glass, warm glass and the other equipment we plan to develop over time.
